What am I downloading?
The current 0.3 Windows preview package: the app installer and its included guides. oruvano is the personal interface, settings, and conversation workspace around a local AI model. It is software for your existing computer.
The guided setup downloads the Ollama engine and Qwen starter model separately. They are third-party components with their own licenses, included or referenced in the package.
Is the beta actually free?
Yes. This beta download requires no payment, card details, or subscription. This site is currently a beta testing space. A paid public release may follow; no checkout or preorder is active here.
Will it run on my laptop?
The pilot targets x64 Windows 10 22H2 or Windows 11, 16 GB RAM, and at least 13 GB of free space. You’ll need internet access for setup and about 4 GB of AI downloads.
These are pilot targets, not a verified compatibility guarantee. The native installer and model still need to be tried on a real Windows laptop. Speed and model quality depend on your hardware and chosen model.
What stays on my computer?
oruvano stores conversations, topic links, memories, documents you add, and preferences in your local workspace. Ordinary local chat is designed to run offline after the engine and model are installed.
Initial software and model downloads use the internet. Exported data backups are readable, unencrypted files; keep those copies somewhere private.
Does oruvano remember every conversation?
oruvano can organize related source passages and retrieve relevant ones as you continue talking. You can inspect and correct the links. Context is limited: it does not include every past detail in every answer, and organization can make mistakes.
Is it as capable as a large cloud AI?
There is no promise of cloud-model parity. oruvano’s answers depend on the local model, the context supplied, and your computer. This beta focuses on a personal conversational workspace, with honest limits and visible controls.
What is not included in this beta?
This version is for one person on one computer. Voice conversations, web browsing, image generation, shared accounts, and actions in external apps are not included. The previews above show the updated oruvano branding with fictional sample content.
